Make a companion show to your main podcast using Shortcast Club

Shortcast Club is creating a community to make podcasting more accessible. Our app is the easiest way to make and publish a short podcast, for free, right from your phones, with no additional equipment needed.

If you are already producing a traditional podcast, you might consider using Shortcast Club as a supplement. Some ideas for how to use it as a companion podcast to engage with the community and grow your audience for the main podcast:
  1. For breaking news headlines and more frequent updates. Don’t make your listeners wait for your weekly episode.
  2. For a “making of” or “behind the scenes” series. We find that giving listeners a look behind the curtain they become more interested in the main podcast and better connected to the hosts.
  3. For “voice on the street” and “opinion" segments. It’s an easy way to get your community involved and excited.
Shortcast Club differs from more traditional options where you record, edit, and produce a highly polished finished product. Whereas with a traditional podcast you might spend 5 to 80 hours creating one episode, with Shortcast Club you record for up to 3 minutes and you’re done. Shortcast Club is for short, less-produced content. Think: the Twitter of Podcasting.

The other big difference is that with a traditional podcast, to record an interview you’ll generally schedule a time for everyone to be together at once. With Shortcast.club, you record asynchronously. The first person records an intro, and the other participants can record their parts when they want. Then, the first person can combine all the segments and publish as an episode at the push of a button.

For both traditional options and Shortcast Club it’s easy to distribute to all the major listening platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Google, Stitcher, Spotify, and more. That’s the same.
